Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) is the apex industry body representing leading vehicle and vehicular engine manufacturers in India. SIAM provides a window to the Indian automobile industry and aims to enhance exchanges and communication expand economic, trade and technical cooperation between the Indian automobile industry and its international counterparts. The Society works closely with all the concerned stake holders in the formulation of rules, regulations and polices related to the automobile industry.
In order to achieve advancement of Inspection and Certification (I&C) of vehicles and increased safety on roads, the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) has incorporated an independent body Society for Automotive Fitness & Environment (SAFE).
SAFE works to generate awareness among the various stakeholders on the issues of concern of in-use vehicles which would lead to safer vehicles and cleaner environment. SAFE organizes inspection clinics for in-use vehicles and training workshops for pollution checking technicians in various parts of the country. These programmes are aimed to create awareness on importance of regular maintenance amongst vehicle owners. Every year we organize SAFE Annual Convention in different states, so that we can spread the information relates to Road Safety and latest technology coming up in automobiles. This year the Society for Automotive Fitness & Environment – SAFE (a SIAM initiative) is organizing its Annual Convention 2018 on 2nd May 2018 at Guwahati, Assam with the theme “Enforcement, Intelligent Transportation and Training for Safer Roads”.
SAFE Annual Convention this year will explore how the experience and knowledge of stake holders from across the globe in the road maintenance and safety sectors can support informed decision making and policy development that improves road safety and efficiency. The conference will have speakers with experience and professional background with expertise in accident prevention, infrastructure planning and usage of latest technology through relevant presentations that would benefit all delegates and take forward the best practices of road safety in making our roads more safer.
