In pursuance of its commitment to reducing pollution from poorly maintained in-use vehicles. SIAM-SAFE developed a Computerized PUC System.
The first Computerized PUC Centre for Petrol vehicles was launched in Kolkata on the occasion of Environment Day.
The Computerized PUC Centers are modeled on international systems and have been developed by the project team headed by Mr M N Muralikrishna, Past President, Society for Automotive Fitness & Environment and Technical Adviser, TVS Motor Company.
This system minimizes to a large extent, human intervention and deficiencies prevalent in the current system in the process of recording and issuing PUC certificates, thereby establishing credibility and acceptance to the certificate issues.
SAIM-SAFE had taken the initiative of setting up --- computerized emission check centres in – cities across the country. The concept had now been accepted in all the major cities of the country. Some States had taken significant strides in this direction.
Government of Karnataka was determined to make Karnataka the first state in the country to have 100% computerization of all the PUC centres in the state.
SIAM-SAFE have been following a rigorous system of appraisal through feedback from the Transport Department and PUC centres owners, so that any deficiency can be identified at the earliest and rectified accordingly.
